Hi Welcome to the Website of Bullets Softball Cricket Club.

Bullets Softball Cricket Club

In 1996, a certain gentleman was approached by some females of the Barnes Hill / New Winthorpes Community to form a female cricket team. Being an avid cricket fan and being a player himself, he willingly made himself available.

The females did well and from time to time have won many championships. I can still remember being at home and hearing the car horns coming through the Village after a victorious game.

The males were not to be left behind and soon a male team was formed.

After a few months, members of both male and female teams began to meet socially and to plan activities outside of Cricket. This prompted the formation of the Bullets Softball Cricket Club in 1997.

Our motto “Bringing Community Spirit Together” was chosen by the members some years later in a competition after a set of entries were submitted.
Each year the Club has grown from strength to strength with a membership base of over 45 persons. Membership fees and dues are paid each year . Most members play the game of cricket while the others enjoy the social activities and outings

Bullets Softball Cricket Club is the first Club to have sent a male and female team to participate in the West Indies Windball Tournament. Each year since then the Club has sent two teams, male and female to this tournaments which have been hosted in various Caribbean Countries and in Orlando Florida.  We have also been the first Club to organize a Caribbean Tournament in Antigua.

For the past six years we have secured the sponsorship of Bryson's Shipping and Insurance Co. Ltd.   Our sponsors have become a part of the Bullets Family and we are proud to be associated with them.  Having such security gives us the confidence to go out and play our utmost best knowing that any achievement for us is also an added achievement for Bryson's Shipping and Insurance Co. Ltd. We contineo enjoy a long and fruitful relationship with you.

Travelling together, playing together and having fun together are lots of things we enjoy doing thus making us a close knit family, looking out for each other at all times. To begin each softball season, Bryson's Shipping & Insurance Bullets Cricket Teams make a secial effort to go to Church.  Each year we worship ata different Church.  So far we have attended the St. George's Anglican, the St. James's Anglican Church, Precision Centre, and The Baptist Church on Friar's Hill Road.

During the year, we make sure that we have special events and outings helping to knit the family even closer together.  The ladies can always expect to be spoilt and entertained on Mother's Day and our men are treated likewise on Father's Day.

Special holidays call for special outings and we make the most of them.  We tour the Island, we camp out we spend time together at the Coach's home and we go out together to Clubs or Boat Rides.

One special event we have each year is the Christmas Lunch for the Elderly of the Parish.  We do not dare to forget this occassion because from the beginning of November, a few elderly folks always remind us of the fun they had the last time (subtle hints for us to remember the time is upcoming).  It is most fulfilling as we enjoy the company of our elders who give us their full support and who always have some advise or words of encouragement for us.  We love you all.

Bullets Softball Cricket Club welcomes anyone who wishes to be a part of the Club.  We are proud to be one of the largest and best Softball Cricket Club in Antigua and Barbuda.  We are located to the West of the V.C. Bird International Airport and directly West of TCM. Come and visit us you are always welcome.

Subject Is Softball Cricket in Antigua still exciting.

Reply

I think that softball cricket in Antigua is becoming less and less exciting mainly because the teams have become so competitive that they take the joy from the game. I also think that the lack of planning and the lack of vision of the Association and its members also contribute to the lack of interest in Softball Cricket. Try some new and innovative things, something that will bring back the fun in softball cricket.
