St. John's Co-operative Credit Union Females

The Female Cricket Team were not at their best this year for the 25 overs.  It seemed as if nothing could go right but with their backs against the wall and staring at demotion into the 2nd Division, the girls showed that they could shake off the worst and end up at the top.  Having to play Quality Boat Works Enforcers in the evening at Dredgers did not go over well with the girls but despite the fact they decided that if the opposition wanted to win this game they would have to fight us to the bitter end.
It turned out to be easier than expected.  Batting first Bryson’s Bullets made (what some considered) a meager 85 runs from their 25 overs.  But that did not phase them as the runs were already on the board.  With their tails up and their backs towards the wall, they displayed a session of bowling and fielding that any professional team could wish for.  Enforcers were bowled out for 68 runs.  Of course Bullets had their supporters and like them they celebrated in silence, not being ones to broadcast themselves or make much noise but they were happy.  The others who were against them could not say a word but took tucked tails between their legs and crawled away.
Well done Ladies, you may not have won the championship but you played a first class game that evening that showed that you are champions in your own right.
